Hello everyone,

I have told you I will update all members whenever there is a change in the rules and so here is an update. This change is minor and is a rule that has already be in the Biblical discussion sections for a while but I was shocked to find it wasn't in the whole Board rules.

The minor change was to rule A.5. It now states this:

A.5. Provide Scripture when making a biblical point
When you are defending what you believe include the scripture that shows why you believe that way. If there is no scripture to defend what you say, you may be warned.

A.5.a Do not twist Scripture around against its intended meaning.
This is a major no-no. Please post the whole thought and do not change the message of the scripture by skipping a key verse.

The change was adding A.5.a.

As you see this is a rule that needs to be in place. I understand that some people have differing opinions about verses of scripture and this is not what the rule speaks of. Rather this rule directed to when we attempt to take a verse (or verses) out of context and apply them to they fit our needs.

If we wanted to, we could exploit the Bible in such a fashion we could make it acceptable to do about anything. This is how cults are formed my friends.

So, from here on out this rule will be enforced. I have never noticed a need for this rule as of yet on this forum, but on other forums I have seen an issue regarding not having a rule such as this in place.
